Sometimes I wonder what other moms do with their kids all day. Keeping these little ones busy is a pretty big task. Some days just flow on by without a dull moment but not too much chaos either. Then there are days like today when I keep checking the clock to see if it’s time for Kellen to come home. At one point in the late afternoon we were all going a little crazy. I was racking my brain to come up with something that would keep their attention for longer than two minutes. So I dug through the garbage… literally. We found a few boxes from our latest Costco trip. Perfect for a ninja city! I pulled out the paints, crayons & every other crafty thing I could find. We went to work creating a home for the entire ninja turtle gang. Meanwhile baby sis tried to escape down the driveway so I made a garbage can barricade that she hasn’t slipped by yet.
I’ve never really been the type to go with the flow and take things as they come. I think this is one reason why motherhood can be such a challenge for me. Children are unpredictable and life changes as quickly as the days pass. Today I was happy with myself and the way this simple, creative activity came alive. Here’s to a tiny victory in the life of Rachel!
