Over the summer we decided to do one last vacation as a family of four. A road trip at 34 weeks pregnant was not the best idea I’ve had ha! I was pretty uncomfortable most of the trip but we made some incredible memories! Sea World, the beach and lots of time with cousins. San Clemente will always be one of our favorite places & sharing it with our children has been so special!
When Kellen was on his guys’ trip we went up to the cabin one last time before the cold weather hits. I didn’t bring swimming suits for my kids, thinking it would be too cold. It was but that didn’t stop these brave little ones from playing in the water. They stripped down to diapers & undies right on the beach and had so much fun!
It’s not very often that I get my parents all to myself. I talked their ears off up on the drive up and our walk along the beach. I seriously hit the jackpot with my mom and dad. They are the most loving, selfless people I know. They’re always ready to listen to my latest big idea and offer feedback to help me get where I want to be. I’m so glad we’re close enough to make these quick trips up to visit. On the drive home we stopped at the marina to feed the fish. Stella tried to jump right in after them! My fearless little water baby. And of course, we ended the trip with a raspberry shake. We can’t wait to spend our days at the lake next summer!
Our niece’s baptism was planned to fall over Labor Day weekend. This made for the perfect excuse to head to southern Utah for a few days. My sister and her cute family came up from Las Vegas too! I can’t say this enough but being with family is truly where it’s at. I never laugh harder or smile more than when the whole gang is together.
On Friday we headed down to St. George after Kellen got off work. Guys, road tripping with kids is not for wimps. Somehow we survived the drive even though one or both of our children were whining at any given point. We decided to make the drive home at night + I think we discovered where the road trip magic is at because both kids slept the entire way! Our weekend was jam packed with fun. Swimming, movies, splash pads — and of course the baptism which was such a sweet cherry to top it all off. I’m surprised we were able to fit so much into that three day weekend. Here’s a few pictures from the weekend(not pictured — the much needed shopping trip with my sis).
